BRIEF: School board to review cell phone policy

Jan 28, 2013 (The Hawk Eye - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- The Burlington School Board will review the progress of a new cell phone policy during a meeting tonight.

Last fall, the Burlington School Board approved the policy change after students from a leadership class at BHS used two school board meetings to plead their case.

Under the new policy, cell phones must be kept on silent and can be used during passing time, lunchtime and during study hall.

Only students who are not getting D's or F's can use their cell phones during study hall.

Tonight's meeting will take place in the Helen Berry Media Center at Aldo Leopold Middle School.

The board will discuss school athletics at 6 p.m., with the regular meeting at 7 p.m.
