Gaming Backend Infrastructure Company, PlayerScale, Hits 100 Million Users

BELMONT, Calif., Jan. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- PlayerScale, developers of software infrastructure for cross-platform gaming, today announced that it has crossed 100 million users in just over 17 months. The company's powerful backend software, combined with data analytics and revenue tools, gives gaming publishers and aggregators the ability to scale titles across casual, social and mobile platforms in a rapid and seamless manner. This gives millions of users access to the same personalized gaming experience across any device, be it a portable, mobile, desktop or console.

The company is currently adding over a quarter million users daily across the globe. Users generally spend a cumulative 100 years of game play on PlayerScale systems every day. PlayerScale's software is used across 4,000 gaming titles from over 2,600 developers worldwide including SGN (Social Gaming Network), Con Artist Games and 505 Games among others. The company, founded in 2011, boasts a team of gaming and technology veterans who bring experience from companies including Electronic Arts, Nonoba.com, Lycos Europe, Spectrum Holobyte and Activision, and have worked on some of gaming's most popular titles such as Madden NFL, Magic Zen Garden and Rock Band.

"The rapid proliferation of multiple platforms combined with users wanting to access their games anywhere and on any device has created a challenge for developers over the last year," said Jesper Jensen CEO of PlayerScale. "PlayerScale was designed from the ground up to give users continuous content across all devices making the gaming experience richer while giving developers the ability to build user loyalty and increase revenues across their gaming portfolio." "PlayerScale's platform empowers us to deliver games to consumers in a fast and efficient way," said Aber Whitcomb, CTO of SGN. "Our partnership enables us to focus on the creative aspects of game development, while allowing PlayerScale to provide the infrastructure." For many gaming companies, over half of the game production time is taken up by backend infrastructure development. The PlayerScale software incorporates a data analytics tool that provides developers with information to understand user behavior and track users and revenue across mobile and web-based properties, giving developers the ability to increase monetization and rapidly introduce new games into the market. PlayerScale supports Flash, Unity 3D, C++, .Net, Android (JAVA), IOS (Objective-C) and HTML5.

PlayerScale's board of advisors is comprised of Jonathan Flesher, former vice president of business development at Zynga and now executive vice president, business development at Betable; and Nishad Pai, principal for global alliances and strategic partnerships at Google.
