Web versus justice system

Jan 24, 2013 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The internet is affecting the right to fair trial. People use social media to comment on legal cases, and jurors may be influenced by the opinions expressed by bloggers. Australia should follow the example of Japan and South Korea, where jurors reach a verdict together with judges. Mixed jury systems are a better solution than trial by a judge, as judges can also be influenced by information circulating on the internet.
