ADVA Optical Networking and HEP Group deploy 100G technology in Croatia

Jan 24, 2013 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- ADVA Optical Networking, a provider of network equipment for data, storage, voice and video services, and the Croatian government's national electricity company, Hrvatska Elektroprivreda, or HEP Group, have announced the deployment of 100G technology.

The two companies in collaboration with their regional partner ITeRATIO conducted a 100G deployment over a distance of more than 400km between the Croatian cities of Zagreb and Split.

"This 100G introduction is the next step in the drive to modernize the country's communications infrastructure and significantly improve the performance and flexibility of our networks," said Zelimir Pibercnik, director of IT and Telecommunications, HEP Group.

"We invested over E3.3 million (HRK 25 million) upgrading our nation-wide network infrastructure to 10G in conjunction with ADVA Optical Networking. Now, with 100G we will continue to work together to address the growing demand for high-speed data transmission, encouraging investment in the region for years to come." http://www.datamonitor.com Republication or redistribution, including by framing or similar means, is expressly prohibited without prior written consent.
