Appcara Showcases New Option for Accelerating Big Data Hadoop, Hive Deployments In the Cloud at Cloud Expo Europe

MILPITAS, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Appcara, an innovator in cloud application platforms, announced that it will be showcasing its new Big Data application publishing capability for the cloud at the Cloud Expo Europe event next week in London. Appcara's (News - Alert) AppStack application platform has been enhanced to provide point-and-click publishing and management of Hadoop and Hive applications in the cloud in support of the growing base of users of Big Data and analytics applications.

As enterprises and service providers embrace Infrastructure-as-a-Service models for Big Data-caliber applications yet struggle to manage them, AppStack offers IT developers a far simpler and easier way to launch, update and setup complex Hadoop and Hive deployments on an enterprise scale.

Big Data Hadoop implementations often involve dozens or hundreds of servers - a scale that can become unwieldy and time-consuming for the DevOps team that must manage the myriad of configurations, dependencies and settings required to keep each server operational. Based on this customer demand, Appcara has integrated a new Big Data application category in its App Marketplace of its AppStack solution. AppStack allows users to portably deploy Big Data applicatons in both public and private clouds, and also enables full lifecycle management of these applications. To simplify deployments, users enter the Big Data category in AppStack's App Marketplace to define the number of working nodes they would like, with AppStack automating the rest of the deployment process. AppStack thereby allows DevOps teams to streamline Hadoop and Hive application setup into a swift, point-and-click process.

This new functionality builds on AppStack's core model-driven infrastructure that allows developers to work with unprecedented ease and avoid the pitfalls of traditional application deployment approaches like server templates - which can burden the development team with managing template & scripting environments by hand. For service providers, AppStack and its App Marketplace self-publishing capabilities open the doors to offering differentiated, higher-margin services - services that allow enterprises to access Software as a Service models where their cost structure and agility can be maximized.

"Because Big Data application adoption in the cloud is still new, deploying them is an onerous manual process since the tools to automate and manage them are still severely lacking," said John Yung (News - Alert), CEO of Appcara. "AppStack can turn Hadoop and Hive deployments into a seamless "one-step" process that saves time and opens entirely new realms of possibility for time- and cost-savings, which is critically important for such complex multi-server deployments."

Appcara will showcase the new Big Data category in its AppStack cloud onramp solution along with prepackaged Hadoop and other applications and AppStack features in booth 567 at Cloud Expo Europe.
