Technicolor elects vice chair of technical committee on IFS-TC

Jan 18, 2013 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Technicolor, an animation, gaming and visual effects company, has announced that Dr Gwenael Doerr, a member of Technicolor's Security & Content Protection Labs, Rennes and France, and also a Member of the Fellowship Network, has been elected vice chair of the technical committee on Information Forensics and Security, or IFS-TC, of the IEEE Signal Processing Society, or IEEE SPS, for 2013.

According to the bylaws, he will subsequently become the chair of the TC in 2014-2015. The IFS-TC provides a functional arena for researcher and engineers interested in signal processing techniques for security, forensics and privacy.

Its main objective is to supply these individuals with a flexible networking framework in order to develop a strong community tied by common technical interests.

This includes for instance its annual workshop, IEEE WIFS, which has been supported by Technicolor since its creation in 2009. The TC will also hold its first international contest in 2013 on tampering detection in still images.
