Robert Kidd Joins Impelsys as Executive Vice President


NEW YORK --(Business Wire)--

Impelsys, a global leader in providing electronic content delivery solutions, today announced that Robert F. Kidd has been named executive vice president of sales, based in the company's New York headquarters and reporting directly to Sameer Shariff, the founder and CEO of the company.

Kidd will be responsible for sales and business development, supporting Impelsys' business in the U.S., the largest market in the world for eBook publishing and sales. Impelsys is coming off a very successful 2012 and has aggressive growth strategies in place for 2013.

Impelsys is the developer of iPublishCentral, the award-winning digital publishing software platform. iPublishCentral is the eBooks technology infrastructure used by some of the largest science, technology, medical publishers, academic publishers and professional associations in the world.

Kidd has more than 20 years of experience in the publishing industry. Most recently, he was a vice president at Innodata Isogen (News - Alert) Inc., where he led the Professional Publishing Practice. Previously, he was vice president of global content services and international sales for Cadmus Communications Corp., was an executive officer of KnowledgeWorks, and senior director of publishing at Ovid Technologies, Inc. (now part of Wolters Kluwer Health).

Among Kidd's many contributions to the industry is his creation of the organization that built the highly acclaimed BioOne database -- an electronic aggregation of 70 full-text, biology journals - in the 1990s. Kidd holds a Ph.D. and Masters degree from the University of Wisconsin and a Masters degree from the University of Cambridge.
