Upgrade Alert for GT Advanced Technologies (GTAT)

Jan 17, 2013 (SmarTrend(R) Upgrades/Downgrades via COMTEX) -- GT Advanced Technologies (NASDAQ:GTAT) was upgraded from Underperform to Hold at Jefferies today. The stock closed yesterday at $3.14 on volume of 2.2 million shares, below average daily volume of 4.0 million. There is potential upside of 34.6% for shares of GT Advanced Technologies based on a current price of $3.14 and an average consensus analyst price target of $4.23. GT Advanced Technologies shares should first meet resistance at the 50-day moving average (MA) of $3.34 and find additional resistance at the 200-day MA of $5.00.

GT Advanced Technologies share prices have moved between a 52-week high of $17.50 and a 52-week low of $2.82 and closed yesterday at 11% above that low price at $3.14 per share. The 200-day and 50-day moving averages have moved 1.44% lower and 2.15% lower over the past week, respectively.

GT Advanced Technologies Inc. manufactures solar power equipment. The Company is a global provider of polysilicon production technology, crystalline ingot growth systems and related photovoltaic manufacturing services for the solar industry.
