BRIEF: KPD Internet crimes task force arrests Overton County man

KNOXVILLE, Jan 15, 2013 (The Knoxville News-Sentinel - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A Knoxville Internet crimes police task force has arrested an Overton County man for allegedly sending inappropriate text messages to a young girl through Facebook.

Ryan Bartger Clark, 21, of Monterey, Tenn., is charged with one felony count of solicitation of a minor, as well as two misdemeanor counts on the same charge, according to a news release today from Knoxville Police Department spokesman Darrell DeBusk.

Clark allegedly sent the texts to a 12-year-old girl. The girl's parents then contacted KPD's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which launched an undercover operation into Clark's activities, DeBusk said.

Clark currently is being held at the Knox County Detention Facility in lieu of $25,000 bond. He is set for arraignment Jan. 22 in Knox County General Sessions Court.

More details as they develop online and in Wednesday's News Sentinel.
