NETS has been granted the Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Certification from the Department of Veterans Affairs (CVE)

FAIRFAX, Va., Jan. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Nelson Enterprise Technology Services (NETS) is pleased to announce its official verification as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Center for Veterans Enterprise.

The SDVOSB certification is good for 2 years and allows NETS to participate in the Veterans First Contracting Program. Under this program, NETS will receive special dispensation in sole source contracts and set asides issued by VA as well as the opportunity to participate in the VA's Mentor-Protege Program.

Under the VA's Mentor-Protege Program, large business prime contractors may receive additional subcontracting plan credit towards specific VA contracts. In addition, the VA will give proposal evaluation consideration to Mentor firms when utilizing evaluation factors in their contract solicitations.

Large business prime contractors are now incentivized more than ever to contract with NETS. VA is one of the largest procurement organizations in the Federal Government. Annually, this Department spends over $3 Billion with eligible Veteran-Owned Small Businesses.

NETS looks forward to utilizing this certification in expanding business across more Federal lines and partnering with other IT firms to continue to provide its clients with value-based professional and engineering services.

Founded in 2008 as a Service Disabled Veteran and Minority Owned Small Business, NETS has rapidly emerged in serving its Federal customers in their areas of expertise that include: optical network capacity planning, public key infrastructure, program management, network/LAN operations and maintenance, server and database administration, and systems engineering.

Additionally, NETS offers solutions to meet the challenging requirements in e-Business, e-Government, Communications, and Management. The growth and success of NETS is a direct result of their ability to leverage customers' existing investments with cutting edge technologies to continually improve services and solutions.
