Economists with Charles River Associates (CRA) Assist Google with Closing FTC Antitrust Review

BOSTON --(Business Wire)--

Charles River Associates (NASDAQ: CRAI), a worldwide leader in providing economic, financial, and management consulting services, today announced that economists in the Antitrust & Competition Economics Practice assisted Google (News - Alert) in its response to the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) antitrust investigation. On January 3, the FTC announced that it had voted unanimously to close the investigation.

"We are pleased that economists in CRA's Antitrust & Competition Practice were able to help Google convince the FTC (News - Alert) that, far from being an antitrust violation, Google's innovation in search is the sort of competitive behavior the antitrust laws are supposed to encourage," said CRA's President and Chief Executive Officer Paul Maleh.

Senior Academic Adviser, Professor Michael A. Salinger of the Boston University School of Management and a recognized authority on industrial economics, antitrust policy, and regulation of business, led the CRA team, which also included Elizabeth Wang, Robert Levinson, Sean May, and Sam Giller.
