Nebraska Public Power District appoints new VP and chief nuclear officer

Jan 10, 2013 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- The Nebraska Public Power District, or NPPD, has announced the appointment of Oscar Limpias as the new vice president, or VP, and chief nuclear officer to head its nuclear power plant, Cooper Nuclear Station, located in the southeast corner of the state.

Mr. Oscar Limpias will replace Brian Grady who has served in the role since 2010. Limpias has been the vice president of engineering for Entergy Nuclear since 2007 and has been responsible for all engineering activities of its nuclear business fleet.

As owner and operator of CNS, NPPD contracted with Entergy Nuclear Nebraska, LLC, in 2004 to provide support services related to the plant's operations.

The support services agreement with Entergy Nuclear includes employment of a limited number of management personnel at Cooper, one of which is the chief nuclear officer. The contract also benefits NPPD by providing access to other Entergy fleet resources.
