Insider: Huawei 2012 Terminal Revenue Reaches USD7.4bn


Jan 10, 2013 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- An industry insider disclosed that Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. gained operating revenue of USD 7.4 billion from mobile phone, tablet computer, data card and other household terminal business in 2012, with a profit growth of 70% year on year.



According to the insider, ZTE Corporation (SZSE: 000063 and SEHK: 0763) gained operating revenue of USD 6.2 billion from mobile phone, data card and mobile household devices in 2012, with a year-on-year profit growth of 300%.

According to the previous financial report, Huawei Device Co., Ltd, the terminal subsidiary of Huawei Technologies, saw global sales revenue of USD 6.7 billion and shipment of more than 150 million in 2011, including smartphone shipment of over 20 million. Richard Yu, chairman of Huawei Device, anticipated in May 2012 that the company may see more than USD 9 billion in operating revenue in 2012.


ZTE gained revenue of CNY 26.93 billion or USD 4.3 billion from terminal business in 2011, turning into the global fourth largest mobile phone manufacturer. If the data are accurate, the company will be able to see substantial growth in 2012 operating revenue and profit.
