Linear Dimensions Semiconductor Inc. today introduces the industry's lowest power physiological monitoring devices, PHYSIOsensics, enabling wellness patch applications.

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) (PRWEB) January 09, 2013 January 9, 2013, CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW (CES), LAS VEGAS, NV - Linear Dimensions Semiconductor Inc. today introduced its PHYSIOsensiics® line of physiological monitoring and fusion analysis products enabling portable physiological monitoring applications. PHYSIOsensiics® are the lowest power consumption engines for extracting and analyzing physiological attributes including heart rate, galvanic skin response, motion, activity levels and caloric burn, location, skin impedance, oximetry, EEG and temperature. PHYSIOsensiics® include all the hardware, software, extraction & fusion algorithms, mobile interfaces, GUIs, wireless links, support and Linear's Cloud service to support the rapid development and introduction of consumer physiological monitoring products and software. PHYSIOsensiics® interface ICs and supporting algorithms form the heart of emerging fusion physiological sensing Digital Health and Fitness Tech innovations, powering such devices as physiological wellness monitoring patches, physiological fusion arm bands, chest straps, head bands, goggles, gloves and sportswear embedded devices.

"Linear's new PHYSIOsensiics® will typically draw less than 50% of the power of competitors such as Maxim, Texas Instruments, and Analog Devices. Additionally, our hardware and algorithms can extract body information hidden by muscle signals, motion artifacts, and environmental noise." says Mike Ward, Executive VP of Sales for Linear Dimensions Semiconductor Inc.

The PHYSIOsensiics® product line includes complete system solutions for physiological monitoring and fusion such as the complete SP17 Physiological Monitoring System. Simply add electrodes or sensors and housing and make use of Linear's mobile, PC or Cloud based software solutions. The LNDAQ2 SoC solution minimizes current consumption with an average current draw of 35uA including terminators, instrumentation amplifier, programmable filters, AGC and multiple data converters up to 18 bits. The system on a chip (SoC) physiological fusion system, the LNDAQ2, enables the use of paper batteries for wellness patch applications and extends battery life in other applications. The LNDA003 PEAL extraction, analysis and fusion engine may be used to customize solutions for mobile, tablet or PC applications. Using neural wavelet technology the PEAL algorithm can extract human physiological signals even where environmental, muscle or other noise is in the same band of greater magnitude. The stand alone LNDINA333 instrumentation amplifier reduces the current consumption of the TI INA333 by 50%, while the LNDADC14 pipeline ADC, LNDADC18 delta sigma and LNDFILB8 provide extremely low current data converter and filtering solutions utilizing the latest sub-threshold and switched capacitor techniques.
