BRIEF: SMCISD teacher is found dead in Austin apartmentJan 08, 2013 (San Marcos Daily Record - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Stacia Turner, 47, a teacher at DeZavala Elementary School in the San Marcos CISD, was found dead at her residence by Austin police Monday morning. "She was a hearing impaired teacher at DeZavala and when she didn't call or show up at work today, there was concern," SMCISD superintendent Mark Eads, said. "It was very uncharacteristic of her and so we were quite concerned." Austin police were notified and sent to check on her. No further details were available, but no foul play is suspected, officials said. Teachers and staff were notified late Monday afternoon of her death following notification of next of kin. According to her MyLife page on the Internet, Turner was born in 1965.
