Actiontec Reports Broadband Forum BBF.069 CPE Certification for Remote ManagementJan 08, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Actiontec Electronics announced that its C1000A Wireless VDSL2 Modem Router has achieved BBF.069 CPE Certification, verifying that the device conforms with the TR-069 protocol for remote management. In a release, the Company noted that Actiontec is one of the early companies to pass the new BBF.069 CPE Certification Program, which was launched by the Broadband Forum in October 2012. TR-069 is a remote management standard, recommended by the ITU-T, used to provision and manage Customer Premise Equipment in the connected home. The standard lets broadband service providers remotely configure and troubleshoot devices in the home, resulting in lower operational costs and better customer service. The Broadband Forum BBF.069 CPE Certification indicates that the CPE device adheres to the Broadband Forum's TR-069 specifications. "Actiontec has been deploying TR-069 managed products for more than eight years and more than 90 percent of our product shipments are TR-069 based, giving carriers the ability to remotely manage subscriber equipment on their networks," said Brian Henrichs, chief business development officer at Actiontec Electronics. To achieve BBF.069 CPE Certification, a CPE device must pass all mandatory test cases within the TR-069 Conformance Test Plan.
