Aviation Historian and Author Gary Fogel to Appear at AMA Expo, January 11-13, Ontario Convention Center

Ontario, CA, Jan 04, 2013 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- Model aviation fans will have the opportunity to meet AMA member, author, and aviation historian Gary Fogel at this year's AMA Expo, on January 11 and 12. Fogel has written extensively on the history of gliding in San Diego. He will be speaking live at the show, discussing his new book, Quest for Flight: John J. Montgomery and the Dawn of Aviation in the West. The book covers the accomplishments of Montgomery, a prolific inventor who piloted the glider he designed in 1883 in the first controlled flights of a heavier-than-air craft in the Western Hemisphere, 20 years before the Wright brothers' powered flight in 1903.

Expo ticketholders will have the chance to see Fogel's presentation at 3 p.m. on Friday, January 11 and again at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 12. Fogel will be signing copies of his new book after both presentations and throughout the weekend. Learn more about Fogel and his presentation by visiting http://amaexpo.com.
