Police: Drug dealers call in robbery

Jan 03, 2013 (La Crosse Tribune - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Two accused drug dealers called authorities Sunday evening after a juvenile robbed them of Ecstasy at gunpoint, police said.

Alex Muleski and his girlfriend, Laura Shefelbine, both 20 and of Caledonia, Minn., said the 15-year-old pulled what looked like a 9 mm handgun from his waistband, threatened to shoot them and demanded the drugs during the deal near 16th and Cass streets, according to La Crosse police reports.

Shefelbine handed over the pills worth $200 before the juvenile struck Muleski in the face with the butt of his gun, reports stated.

The juvenile fled to his friend's house at 1812 Cass St., where police found him with the help of a La Crosse County Sheriff's Department tracking dog.

The teen and his friend emerged from the house about 20 minutes later.

The juvenile declined to speak with police without an attorney. His friend, 17-year-old Christopher Leinfelder, walked away during the drug deal and told the juvenile not to use the gun, reports stated.

Leinfelder said the juvenile admitted to stealing the Ecstasy and hitting Muleski with the gun. The juvenile flushed the drugs when police came to the home, Leinfelder said.

Officers found a BB gun in a box in the basement.

The juvenile is in secure detection and faces juvenile charges of armed robbery, battery and carrying a concealed weapon. Leinfelder faces charges of party to the crime of armed robbery and disorderly conduct when he appears in La Crosse County Circuit Court.

Muleski and Shefelbine face charges of delivery of MDMA.
