OMG Updates UML Standard, Issues New Healthcare Specification at California Meeting


NEEDHAM, Mass. --(Business Wire)--

The Object Management Group (OMG®) held its quarterly technical meeting at the Hyatt Regency in Burlingame, CA (News - Alert) from December 10th-14th. The meeting was sponsored by: No Magic, Inc, Sparx Systems and Modeliosoft.

During the week, OMG members elected six new members to the Architecture Board. Elisa (News - Alert) Kendall of Thematix Partners and Sridhar Iyengar of IBM were both elected to two-year Domain TC seats while J.D. Baker of Sparx Systems was chosen to complete the balance on a Domain TC seat. Tom Rutt of Fujitsu (News - Alert), Pete Rivett of Adaptive, and Matthew Hause of Atego were all elected to two-year Platform TC seats.

At the quarterly board meeting, two new and six revised specifications were adopted. The newly adopted specifications are:

  • UML Specification Simplification; and
  • Healthcare Community Services Provider Directory

The six newly-revised specifications included:

    li > Asynchronous Method Invocation for CCM (News - Alert)
  • Interface Definition Language (IDL) to C++11 Language Mapping (IDL2C++11)
  • Second Alf 1.0
  • Second SMOF
  • RUBY CORBA Language Mapping 1.2 (RCLM); and
  • UML Testing Profile 1.2
