Gilat unveils Wavestream's Ku-band Matchbox Mini Block Upconverter

Dec 20, 2012 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. has announced the availability of the Wavestream's Ku-band Matchbox Mini Block Upconverter.

The Matchbox Mini incorporates Wavestream's next generation Spatial advantEdge technology to provide higher output power in smaller, lighter weight packages that are reliable and use less energy, the company said.

Matchbox Mini is the next evolution in the Wavestream Matchbox series. The Mini product retains all the features and performance of its Ku-band predecessor but in a smaller and lighter package improving mobility and setup time of transportable systems.

According to the company, the matchbox features include 40W P1db BUC, low power draw, high MTBF (mean time between failures), flexible, modular feed-mount design, holds specs over temperature and frequency, and optional 1:1 redundancy kits.

"In creating the Matchbox Mini, we leveraged the experience gained in fielding over 7000 40W Ku-band BUCs," said Michael Barthlow, GM of Gilat Satellite Networks in North America. "The smaller and lighter Mini retains all the features, high reliability and dependability our customers have come to expect, in a more compact and powerful BUC." http://www.datamonitor.com Republication or redistribution, including by framing or similar means, is expressly prohibited without prior written consent.
