Michael Ryan Elected Chair of Scholarship America's Board of Trustees


MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Scholarship America®, the nation's leading nonprofit scholarship and educational support organization, is pleased to announce that Michael Ryan has been elected to serve as the Chair of Scholarship America's Board of Trustees.



Mr. Ryan has been on Scholarship America's Board of Trustees since 2004 and is the founder and Chief Investment Officer of MDR Capital Management, which serves as the Investment Advisor or Sub-Advisor for several Institutional Separate Accounts.

Prior to founding MDR Capital, Mr. Ryan was head of Global Securities for Credit Suisse, where he oversaw Equities and Fixed Income and served on the firm's Management Committee and Extended Executive Board. He began his career at Goldman Sachs and became a partner in 1998, ultimately serving as co-head of Global Equity Products and serving on the firm's Partnership Committee.

Mr. Ryan graduated summa cum laude from Yale University, with a B.A. in economics. He co-founded Staten Island ACHIEVE Dollars for Scholars and serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations, including the Henry Street Settlement, Management Leadership for Tomorrow, and Scholarship America.
