HFN Sets a New Standard for Low-Latency Fiber Routes in Mahwah and Secaucus

PARAMUS, NJ, Dec 17, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Today, Hudson Fiber Network (HFN), a premier U.S.-based transport and IP services provider, announced it will be one of the first confirmed new carriers building direct connections from the Mahwah NYSE facility, located on MacArthur Boulevard, to the following addresses: -- 300 Blvd. East, Weehawken, N.J.

-- 755 Secaucus Road, Secaucus, N.J.

-- 165 Halsey St., Newark, N.J.

-- Federal Blvd., Carteret, N.J.

Additionally, HFN will premier its new ultra low-latency route between 755 Secaucus Road, Secaucus, N.J. and 300 Boulevard East, Weehawken, N.J. to be turned up by Jan. 15, 2013. The ultra low-latency fast path will offer a fiber distance not to exceed 6.2 km and a latency not to exceed 62 us RTD. It will result in a 25 to 30 percent decrease in route distance and the current overall best fiber latency measurements.

With its Mahwah locations to be live February 2013, HFN will provide the lowest fiber latency connectivity possible for the four new fast paths. Each new fast path will lower fiber latency by a range of 22 to 55 percent depending on the specific path; resulting in the fastest connections between the Mahwah NYSE facility and the aforementioned locations.

"Each of these new routes will set a new standard for fiber low-latency in New Jersey. HFN customers will have a competitive edge due to vastly improved fiber low-latency that we are able to provide them with. A 22 to 55 percent fiber latency decrease will be a major difference for our customers," said Brett Diamond, President, HFN.

"In an industry focused on speed and efficiency, it is our goal to work towards consistent fiber latency improvement of our services.

The addition of these four routes indicates HFN's dedication to providing clients with top tier services." Each New Jersey route will see reductions in latency leading to optimal fiber performance. The new route leading to Federal Boulevard, Carteret will decrease by 22 percent, 300 Boulevard East, Weehawken by 36 percent, 165 Halsey Street, Newark by 25 percent and 755 Secaucus Road, Secaucus by 53 percent.
