BRIEF: Thomson couple asks for help this Christmas

Dec 14, 2012 (The Augusta Chronicle - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A Thomson couple who have had problems finding work and paying off debt would like to make Christmas brighter for their 6-year-old daughter this year.

"I do not know what to do right now," the mother writes. "Things look hopeless, and there will be nothing under the tree. I don't want to take her childhood away, so I pray someone can help us out in our time of need." The Augusta Chronicle Empty Stocking Fund has helped people such as this for 82 years. Last year, the charity raised more than $104,000 that helped children and families across the region.
