Towerstream notches new high for contracts in November 2012

Dec 07, 2012 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Towerstream (NASDAQ: TWER) said it has signed a record number of contracts in November 2012 for its fixed wireless broadband service.

Additionally, the company announced that it is waiving the fee for its Rapid Install solution to businesses in San Francisco who are being affected by recent storms.

"We are ending the year in a strong position," said Matt Tooker, vice president of sales.

Towerstream offers its fixed wireless broadband coverage through the air and not in the ground. Therefore, during massive storms like those affecting the west coast, the network is not affected by typical flooding issues that can cripple cities. Those in need of reliable broadband can sign up for Towerstream's service and be up and running in days.

"During Hurricane Sandy's reign on the East Coast, many businesses were caught without broadband for days and weeks because their current provider's networks became flooded and unusable," said Arthur Giftakis, VP engineering & network operations at Towerstream. "Towerstream's network is built above the ground and incorporates microwave technology which is even faster than fibre. This is the best way to deliver broadband. Due to the feedback we received in New York, we realized how important it is to be able to provide businesses with reliable broadband in a short amount of time. With this in mind, we will waive our Rapid Install fee in San Francisco and work overtime to get these businesses up and running as soon as possible." Towerstream is a leading 4G and small cell rooftop tower company. The company's website is at www.towerstream.com.
