China Mobile Allies with Dolby LaboratoriesBEIJING, Dec 07, 2012 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- The wireless music base of China Mobile Ltd. (NYSE: CHL and SEHK: 0941) entered into a strategic partnership with Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: DLB) today. The two sides will launch cooperation in several fields of technology, such as Dolby Pulse technology. Pursuant to the cooperation agreement reached between the two parties, China Mobile's wireless music base will launch music service and Migu music player employing Dolby Pulse technology next year so as to provide users with digital music entertainment service with low bit-rate technology. As shown in the test, the Dolby high-definition (HD) music service could save about 70% traffic compared with HD MP3 players with the same acoustic quality. According to a top executive of China Mobile, the company's wireless music base has become the biggest licensed music library and the largest genuine music marketing platform in China, whose business income contributes more than 83% to the domestic wireless music market and monthly sales volume of licensed music surpasses 100 million times.
