(Examiner, The (Wash., DC) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The Monday following Thanksgiving was dubbed "Cyber Monday" in 2005, by Shop.org, a unit of the National Retail Federation. The day dedicated to online buying was created after Shop.org determined that people returning to work after Thanksgiving took advantage of high-speed Internet service to shop online. Online sales were expected to top $1.5 billion on Monday, more than twice the $600 million that Cyber Monday generated in its first year.

Colorado and Washington state this month voted to legalize recreational marijuana use. Both states set strict rules, including a ban on public smoking, but neither limits who could smoke pot in the state. That has raised the possibility of a pot tourism industry, something akin to Amsterdam's marijuana cafes, in which people would visit just to smoke. However, it would still be illegal for tourists to take pot with them when they left.
