ECHD approves insurance agreementDec 05, 2012 (Odessa American - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- The Ector County Hospital District board approved on Tuesday a run-out agreement as Medical Center Hospital transitions between health insurance providers. The hospital is switching from Allied Benefit to United Medical, MCH Chief Executive Bill Webster said. The run-out agreement allows MCH employees' claims to be covered during the transition period beginning Jan. 1, 2013 to Dec. 31, 2013. The cost of the run-out agreement is $114,777, which is four months' worth of fees but covers a 12-month span. MCH Human Resources Director Robbi Banks said the funds are budgeted in the 2013 health administration fees. In other business, the board also approved a resolution that will allow Webster and Chief Financial Officer Jon Riggs to conduct transactions with Southwest Securities on behalf of the hospital district. The board also: --Renewed the Ector County assistance program. --Approved a Procare contract with Ashley Browning after executive session. --Moved an ECHD board meeting date from Feb. 12, 2013 to Feb. 5, 2013. --Named Leisha Sanchez, Brad Timmons and Imelda Marrero employees of the month for December. --Heard reports from the Finance and Joint Conference Committees and the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
