As Reported By EB5Investors.com, IIUSA Webinar To Address Explosive Growth of Chinese EB-5 Visa Applicants

Dec 03, 2012 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- The EB-5 Visa Program, a way for foreign investors to obtain a green card through investment in the United States, has grown increasingly popular over the past few years. In order to facilitate the process, which requires a minimum investment of $500,000 and the creation of 10 full-time jobs, EB5Investors.com has built an informational portal to help educate individuals interested in potentially utilizing the program. In addition to the numerous articles explaining the various elements of the program and the latest news in the industry, EB5Investors.com has an extensive nationwide network of immigration attorneys. In the event that the needed information isn't on the site, EB5Investors.com users have the option of asking questions of our entire network of attorneys. This function allows those interested in the program to receive expert feedback from professionals across the country. Additionally, potential investors can use the EB5Investors.com Attorney Finder to find immigration attorneys in the area in which they would like to invest. Chinese nationals have been some of the most ardent participants of the program, with approximately 70% of the EB-5 visas issued in 2011 having been to Chinese investors. However, the increased use of the program by Chinese investors is leading the IIUSA, the Association to Invest In the U.S.A., to propose implementing a cut-off date for 2013.

Scheduled to occur on December 7th, the IIUSA will be conducting a webinar to address the explosive growth of Chinese visa applicants. From 2010 to 2011 the number of EB-5 visas almost doubled, 1,885 to 3,463 respectively, and the same growth seems to be occurring in 2012. Through June 20th there have already been 4,302 EB-5 visas issued, with 86% of them having been issued to Chinese nationals. The State Department predicts that the total number of EB-5 visas to be issued in 2012 will likely be approximately 6,200. The Department of State, aware of the high Chinese for EB-5 visas, has issued a statement claiming that a cut-off date may need to be implemented in the second half of 2013 in order to prevent Chinese investors from exceeding the "per country" EB-5 visa cap each country has. While the total number of visas issued in a year has never reached the 10,000 visa cap, experts predict that, given the growth over the past 2 years, 2013 may be the first time it happens.
