Dec 03, 2012 (Trend News Agency - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- The final testing of the first national telecommunication satellite Azerspace -1 is underway, JSC Azerspace told Trend on Monday.

Tests are planned to be completed until December 5, after which the satellite will be ready for launching.

The satellite will be delivered to the Kuru Cosmodrome in January 2013, but its launch into a geostationary orbit is planned for February 2013.

For the purpose to get familiarized with the process closely there is one employee from JSC and two from Telesat at the Orbital Sciences Corporation plant The loading of Azerspace-1 installed on the STAR-2 platform consists of 36 transponders (24 transponders C-band and 12 ranges of Ku-band). The frequency of the strip on each transponder is 36 MHz and the weight of the satellite is 3300 kg, said JSC. The exploratory period of the satellite in orbit will last 15 years.



The satellite will be launched into a geostationary orbit at 46 degrees Eastern longitude, leased from the Malaysian company Measat Satellite Systems owned by the Malaysian government. The countries of Eastern Europe, Caucasus, Central Asia and Northern Africa will enter the zone of service The telecommunication satellite of Azerbaijani Azerspace has been determined to offer services of digital broadcasting, access to the internet network, database transfer, creation of multiservice VSAT networks and also government relations.

As Azerspace JSC told Trend earlier, work on the construction of the Ariane-5 missile carrier which is to bring the satellite into a geostationary orbit has been carried out according to schedule. Work on the construction of the Ariane-5 missile carrier will be completed on time.
