Children's Hospital Los Angeles Medical Group Selects athenahealth to Enhance Revenue Cycle Performance
LOS ANGELES & WATERTOWN, Mass. --(Business Wire)--
Children's Hospital Los Angeles Medical Group, one of the largest
free-standing pediatric specialty groups in the country, announced today
a partnership with athenahealth, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATHN), a leading provider
of cloud-based electronic health record (EHR),
practice management, and care
coordination services to medical groups and health systems.
Children's Hospital Los Angeles Medical Group recently selected
athenahealth's cloud-based medical billing services to streamline its
revenue cycle in support of the organization's mission of treating
children and preparing the next generation of pediatric care providers,
researchers, and teachers.
Children's Hospital Los Angeles Medical Group is made up of 500
pediatric specialists who provide services across 32 different medical
and surgical subspecialties; the medical group practices at the
world-renown 346-bed Children's Hospital Los Angeles, one of the top
children's hospitals in the country, according to US News and World
Report.
Children's Hospital Los Angeles Medical Group selected athenahealth's
best-in-class practice management solution, athenaCollector®, to improve
revenue cycle performance in the challenging California reimbursement
market. The medical group already uses health
care business intelligence solutions for financial reporting from
Anodyne Health Partners, Inc., which is an athenahealth company.
"Medical Groups like Children's Hospital Los Angeles Medical Group and
their partner hospitals, such as Children's Hospital Los Angeles, are
vital to providing the high level of care needed by the youngest and
most vulnerable patients," said Jonathan Bush, Chairman and CEO,
athenahealth. "We're thrilled that we can help make the revenue cycle
more efficient for Children's Hospital Los Angeles Medical Group, our
largest client in California, so their doctors can get paid more
accurately and timely for doing the right thing for their patients."
Since athenahealth's services operate in the cloud, the medical group
will be able to leverage expert billing intelligence and a patented
Billing Rules Engine that will deliver information to office staff
faster and without the pain and up-front costs of other practice
management systems. This allows care providers at Children's Hospital
Los Angeles Medical Group to focus on treating children, instead of
worrying about being paid for treatment.
"We've been very happy with the business insights we gain from Anodyne
Health, and now, with the addition of athenahealth's cloud-based billing
service, we'll be better equipped to focus on what really matters-the
kids," said Paul King (News - Alert), CEO of Children's Hospital Los Angeles Medical
Group.
