BRIEF: Tiny 'ghost ship' found in Milford

MILFORD, Nov 28, 2012 (New Haven Register - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Steve Johnson, vice chairman of Milford's Conservation Commission, said a knicknack ship was found during Sunday's post-Sandy cleanup in the city.

The stained glass sailboat was found on a beach by a volunteer, he said in an email Tuesday.

The vessel is in good shape, he said.

"The glass sails survived, whatever journey it took to arrive at the beach area. The hull of the boat has a few cracks and a small piece broken off that I have," he said.

Johnson's email concludes: "I hope you can help . . . reunite this with its owner. The story of this boat's journey may be a curious one that people will find interesting to learn about." ___ (c)2012 the New Haven Register (New Haven, Conn.)
