PDA's Website Is A Valuable Oral Health Resource

HARRISBURG, Pa., Nov. 28, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- The Pennsylvania Dental Association (PDA) provides several resources to patients and the public to ensure Pennsylvanians are informed consumers and have access to quality dental care. PDA's website is a valuable tool, offering a wealth of information on a variety of oral health topics. It features a user-friendly navigation structure that allows you to easily browse the patient section. We encourage you to check it out and learn more about oral health.

PDA developed a section that is specifically geared toward kids to help them learn how to keep their teeth healthy. The Kids' Corner features interactive games and activities, information on brushing and flossing, answers to frequently asked questions, nutritional information and more. It also contains additional resources for teachers who participate in National Children's Dental Health Month (NCDHM) in February. This annual program is designed to educate Pennsylvania children about the importance of good oral health. This year, for the first time, the NCDHM materials are only available online on PDA's website.

Another tool you will find helpful is the search feature to find a PDA member dentist. You can search by city, county, zip code and dental specialty to easily locate a member in your area and view details about his or her practice. If you are looking for free or reduced-fee dental care, visit the Dental Clinic Directory page. PDA works to increase access to care for uninsured and underinsured Pennsylvanians, and this directory provides you with a list of clinics by county, the clinic location and contact information, hours of operation, services provided, patient eligibility criteria, fees and area(s) served.

Don't forget to visit the Patient Resource Center that contains important information on a wide variety of oral health topics. Some even include videos featuring PDA member dentists. A few topics featured include: Baby bottle tooth decay and caring for baby teeth Braces Brushing and flossing Child's first dental visit Dental anxiety Dental emergencies Dentures Men's and women's oral health Geriatric dental care PDA and our member dentists are committed to serve Pennsylvanians, improve their health and provide the best possible care. To learn more about how PDA members volunteer their time and give back, check out the Members Making a Difference section.
