Sangoma's Nenad Corbic to Speak at WebRTC Conference and Expo in San Francisco
TORONTO, ONTARIO, Nov 27, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --
Sangoma Technologies Corporation (TSX VENTURE: STC), a leading
provider of hardware and software components that enable or enhance
IP Communications Systems for both voice and data, announced that
Nenad Corbic, its vice president of software engineering, will
present at the upcoming WebRTC Conference and Expo. The event will
take place November 27-29, 2012 at the South San Francisco Conference
Center in San Francisco. Sangoma is a Silver Sponsor for the event.
"For some time now, Sangoma has been advocating "Integration at the
Edge," while strategically developing products to serve as the
"connective tissue" that enables interoperability between the many
disparate networks, devices, clouds and applications that are part of
the communications landscape. WebRTC is the latest technology that
our products will connect with, and offers enormous potential for
simplifying the addition of WebRTC components to IP Communications
landscape," said Corbic. "WebRTC offers Sangoma an opportunity to
reaffirm its leadership in the marketplace through providing
innovative products that will connect WebRTC-based products to the
rest of the network. Sangoma is proud to participate at the WebRTC
Conference and Expo, and is committed to help educate the innovators
and developers that will take this versatile foundational technology
to the next level."
In the session entitled "Libraries and how to use them," Corbic will
address ways that WebRTC and web tools can enable developers to take
advantage of SDKs and other capabilities to drastically speed up
their time to market. This session is a part of the Technology Track
and starts at 9:40am on Thursday, November 29th.
WebRTC is an open source project focused on adding real-time
communications capabilities to web browsers. WebRTC implements open
standards for real-time, plugin-free video, audio and data
communication within browsers from Google, Mozilla and Opera. A Real
Time Communications Media Engine in the browser implements direct
communications with other servers and applications to simplify
integration. With WebRTC, developers can create and deploy platform
independent applications that do not rely on complicated and
potentially expensive plug-ins.
"Sangoma has a long history of supporting open source projects for
telecommunications applications," continued Corbic. "As we continue
to deliver new boards and software for established open source
projects such as Asterisk and FreeSource, we look forward to being a
significant contributor to the growth of WebRTC as it expands
throughout the technology landscape."
