BRIEF: Haddon Township rower headed to Louisville

Nov 26, 2012 (The Philadelphia Inquirer - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Nicole DiTommaso said there were so many good colleges to consider, but in the end, the Haddon Township senior decided to accept a rowing scholarship to Louisville for the simplest of reasons.

"I loved the school, the coach and the team," DiTommaso said during a press conference to announce her intention.

Even though she didn't begin rowing until her sophomore season, DiTommaso was in high demand. She said she was contacted by 94 schools.

Besides Louisville, DiTommaso made three other official visits. The others were to Clemson, Iowa and Miami.

"This makes me realize how blessed I am," she said. "I feel very fortunate." ___ (c)2012 The Philadelphia Inquirer Visit The Philadelphia Inquirer at www.philly.com Distributed by MCT Information Services
