Black Friday shoppers in line two days early at Rock Hill Best BuyROCK HILL, Nov 21, 2012 (The Herald (Rock Hill - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- For the past eight years, Ernesto Valtierra has spent Thanksgiving camped out at Best Buy waiting for Black Friday bargains. This year, he was first to line up outside the Rock Hill store when he arrived before 8 a.m. Wednesday. By Wednesday evening, the line was wrapped around the building as customers prepared to brave the cold temperatures for two nights leading up to the Manchester store's midnight opening on Black Friday. Some brought tents, others had camping chairs and heavy blankets. "We're looking for specials on computers and laptops," said Valtierra, who has lived in Rock Hill for 20 years. "Pretty much all the stuff we buy is for our church. We try to take advantage of the specials." Valtierra passes his time reading his Bible and other books. "This is fun. We make friends, and have good food," he says, laughing while holding a McDonald's bag. The store's general manager, Temiko Griffin, said the first customers typically line up extra early to get the best deals. She's had no problems with crowd control and says the line is self-contained. "They all get along," Griffin said. "They all know each other. They all shop at my store on a normal basis."
