Purdue Research Foundation Receives 7 International Awards


WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. --(Business Wire)--

The Purdue Research Foundation and its Purdue Office of Technology Commercialization received seven 2012 MarCom awards in the international competition that honors excellence in creativity, design, writing and publication of marketing materials.

The awards are administered by the Association of Marketing & Communication Professionals, an international organization comprised of experts working in the field of marketing. The Purdue Research Foundation received four platinum and three gold awards. A platinum award is the competition's highest honor. The foundation received awards in categories including annual report writing and design, Web site design and graphics, videography and technology transfer marketing materials.

Joseph B. Hornett, senior vice president, COO and treasurer of the Purdue Research Foundation, which manages the Purdue Research Park and the Purdue Office of Technology Commercialization, said the awards are indicative of the work being done by the foundation.



"The awards represent the hard work being conducted at Purdue Research Foundation and the accomplishments achieved in the areas of technology transfer and economic development," Hornett said.

The foundation was recognized in the following categories:


* Platinum award for Website (overall): "Purdue Research Foundation, Purdue Research Park and Purdue Office of Technology Commercialization."

* Platinum award for annual report/nonprofit (overall): "PRF Annual Report: Special Edition."

* Platinum award for annual report design (print): "PRF Annual Report: Special Edition."

* Platinum award for annual report (other): "Purdue Office of Technology Commercialization."

* Gold award for annual report (writing): "PRF Annual Report: Special Edition."

* Gold award for Website (graphics): "Purdue Research Foundation, Purdue Research Park and Purdue Office of Technology Commercialization."

* Gold award for videography: "Purdue Research Park 50th Anniversary Flash Mob."

More than 6,000 entries from around the world were submitted for awards in the competition to the Texas-based Association of Marketing & Communication Professionals. About 18 percent of entries received a platinum award. The mission of the awards is to honor excellence and recognize the creativity of marketing professionals.

Other 2012 MarCom Platinum Award winners include Carnegie Mellon Today magazine, IEEE Spectrum (News - Alert), Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, NASA, Texas A&M University, Ohio State University - College of Education and Human Ecology, U.S. Department of Labor, and University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh.
