Vodio App Adds New Search Functionality and Facebook, Twitter and YouTube Channel Creation

Tel Aviv, Israel, Nov 15, 2012 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- Vodio, the personalized video discovery app for iPad and iPhone, announced today the addition of a new search functionality to its top-rated app that allows users to create video channels around any topic that may interest them. Additionally, users can now to convert Facebook or Twitter pages into a video channel, and add video channels directly from YouTube. These updates further expand Vodio's efforts to become a complete social digest tool by allowing users to add localized content beyond their personal social feeds.

Vodio gives users a one-stop-shop platform on which they can watch, discover, and share videos from across the web. The new updates let social video watchers further customize their app experience to suit their personal tastes and preferences. The new search function allows for discovery on any given topic via channels recommended by Vodio. Beyond recommendations from already existing channels and videos offered by Vodio, now, relevant channels from YouTube and pages from Facebook and Twitter will be searched and Vodio will convert those into a video channel, all in one simple click.

Vodio, with its highly refined and artfully designed interface, provides users with a seamless experience for discovering and watching videos on the iPhone and iPad. The app combines the advanced interface elements of some of the most popular apps with a strong emphasis on intuitiveness and simplicity, letting users easily swipe through the different channels of content to discover the videos they want to see.

"Our goal is to give our users the easiest entry point for video consumption with the most natural and intuitive video experience available on the iPad and iPhone," said Jonathan Messika, CEO of Vodio Labs. "We wanted to take the experience of finding videos beyond the act of merely subscribing to a certain feed of content, and rather create a system that pulls together all the videos available out there on the web and create channels that would match the things you're interested in." Vodio is also highly intelligent in the way it searches for, and organizes video content. Beyond simply displaying the videos that are tagged by a certain topic or category, the app is able to show videos that have been shared about or by an individual or media outlet. If a blog posts a video in an article, that video will be displayed in the channel right alongside videos that the blog has produced on its own to create a more whole overview of that blog.

"If someone enjoys reading The Rolling Stone magazine for instance, we have a reason to believe his interests go beyond just videos produced by the magazine, such as interviews or reviews," Messika added. "They may also want to view new video clips by various artists, live performances and any other videos related to or shared by the magazine on its website and through various social networks." Several apps aggregate video content, whether it's directly from YouTube, using Twitter, Facebook or any other combination of social networks. Most of these apps pull in content based on feeds that are fixed at the source. Vodio, however, is able track videos as they are shared by thousands of sources, classify them into the various categories and surface the most popular videos for users based on their personal taste and preferences. Vodio learns from the user's own behavior within the app as well as their social graph (Facebook, Twitter etc.) what videos they would be interested in.

Vodio Video Magazine is available now from the iTunes App Store at: https://itunes.apple.com/app/vodio/id486185699.
