Maui Wowi Hawaiian says Aloha Alabama

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Greenwood Village, Colo. (PRWEB) November 15, 2012 Maui Wowi Hawaiian is bringing the island vibe to Alabama with its new franchisees Ron and Roni Pennington. The husband and wife have more than just a name in common. They are no stranger to the laidback beach scene they both grew up and fell in love with, hoping to one day return to the carefree lifestyle. They have now found that as Maui Wowi Franchise Owners.

“We look forward to returning to our beach roots and putting on our flip flops and Hawaiian shirts as we begin offering fresh fruit smoothies and Hawaiian coffee to the people in the state of Alabama and beyond,” said Ron.

The Pennington’s met while working together at a family owned grocery store in Florida 20 years ago and have since relocated and started a family of their own in Alabaster, Alabama, a town just outside of Birmingham. Ron works as the Director of Production for a direct mail advertising company, while Roni has been busy raising their two children.

The decision to carve a new path as independent franchise owners was initiated by the desire to have more flexibility, freedom, and ability to work together once again. When researching opportunities, what appealed to them most were the flexible business models and quality products offered by Maui Wowi.

Ron and Roni have been granted a standard agreement, which allows them to operate up to three units, ranging from mobile carts, fixed kiosks, and fixed retail locations. They plan to start slow as they seek out events such as the Gumbo Seafood Festival, Blue Angels Air Show, and the Peanut Festival, as well as looking into opportunities within the school system.

“I would like for us to have a few mobile units in permanent places and a few to use for attending other events,” said Roni. “When we first thought of it, three units seemed like a lot, but now we’re seeing how many opportunities are out there.” The two of them are now planning to eventually grow into an empire agreement, allowing them up to 10 units.
