BRIEF: MEMC posts $38.4 million 3Q profit [St. Louis Post-Dispatch](St. Louis Post-Dispatch (MO) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Nov. 07--MEMC Electronic Materials Inc. posted profit and sales gains in the third quarter. O'Fallon, Mo.-based MEMC, a maker of silicon wafers for the solar and semiconductor industries, reported a $38.4 million profit for the third quarter that ended Sept. 30, or 16 cents a share, up from a $92.2 million loss, or 41 cents a share, a year ago.
