KDDI opens data center in Russia


Nov 06, 2012 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- KDDI Corporation, a provider of mobile communications services, including voice, data services, and mobile WIMAX services, has announced the opening of a data center central Moscow. This marks the company's first data center in Russia.

In partnership with local colocation operator Dataspace, the new TELEHOUSE MOSCOW data center is located within their 6,200 square meters site in Sharikopodshipnikovskaya. TELEHOUSE MOSCOW will be managed by Telehouse International Corp. of Europe Ltd. in London Docklands and KDDI's Russian operations will be managing all internal cabling by multilingual staff.


Hiroshi Kobayashi, Managing Director of Telehouse International Corp of Europe Ltd and KDDI Europe, said: "We recognize Russia as a key emerging market due to its substantial internet growth and the rapid progress of Moscow's IT infrastructure, establishing the capital as a potential major data center hub within eastern Europe.
