NTT Communications Group Selects Vidyo and Arkadin for Breakthrough 'Infrastructure-less' Video Conferencing
PARIS & HACKENSACK, N.J. --(Business Wire)--
Arkadin,
one of the world's largest collaboration service providers, and Vidyo,
Inc., the first company to deliver personal telepresence, today
announced that NTT
Bizlink, Inc., a subsidiary of NTT
Communications Corporation, has become one of the first carriers to
provide video conferencing services through Vidyo's infrastructure-less
Vidyo As A Service program. This unique economic model enabled by
Vidyo's disruptive software-based hosted platform and delivered as a white
label service by Arkadin, gives ICT service providers such as NTT (News - Alert)
Communications Group a fast and efficient way to broaden their offerings
in the video conferencing market without requiring expensive upfront
infrastructure investments.
"NTT Communications (News - Alert) Group is a telecommunications visionary that
recognizes the strategic importance of personal telepresence as an
essential productivity tool for businesses of all sizes," says Olivier
de Puymorin, Arkadin's (News - Alert) CEO and founder. "We're thrilled to partner with
Vidyo to provide NTT Communications Group an affordable, high quality
video conferencing solution for their customers. Together with Vidyo,
this white label program will lead the market with the most innovative
and economically feasible solution available for visual collaboration."
"NTT Communications Group decision to sign on to Vidyo's
infrastructure-less Vidyo As A Service program, and the ease with which
Arkadin is able to offer this next generation video conferencng
service, are both testaments to our unique software architecture and a
new affordable pricing paradigm for video conferencing," said Ofer
Shapiro, Vidyo's co-founder and CEO. "Arkadin continues to be a valued
partner, playing a key role in helping to expand Vidyo's international
and service provider reach. Through Vidyo's white label program, Arkadin
is enabling more and more enterprises to experience quicker
time-to-market, and to offer exceptional telepresence-quality video
conferencing that can be accessed on the widest variety of mobile
devices, desktops and room systems."
NTT Bizlink, Inc. plans to combine this cloud-based video collaboration
service with existing video conferencing service offerings through NTT
Communications Group, by launching H.323 gateway service in December
2012. Its video conferencing service will be instantly available over
any Internet or wireless connection through simple one-click access from
desktops or mobile devices.
The Arkadin hosted Vidyo service is a highly strategic offering for
telecommunications service providers to rapidly enter the high growth
market for personal telepresence with significant profit potential. The
infrastructure-less model offers fast, scalable deployments on mobile
and room systems and interoperates seamlessly with existing H.323
infrastructure investments, without requiring enterprises to buy
additional MCUs. These cost advantages can increase providers' offerings
to users.
The infrastructure-less Vidyo As A Service program hosted by Arkadin
will be available worldwide to Tier One Carriers and is immediately
available in the US, EMEA and APAC. For more information please contact arkadin@vidyo.com.
The Arkadin hosted Vidyo service is currently available in Japan through
NTT Communications.
The Vidyo Difference
The Vidyo communication and collaboration platform is software-based,
highly flexible and can be easily customized for individual enterprise
and vertical market video conferencing needs. The patented VidyoRouter™
architecture introduces Adaptive Video Layering, which dynamically
optimizes the video for each endpoint leveraging H.264 Scalable Video
Coding (SVC)-based compression technology and Vidyo's IP. Adaptive Video
Layering eliminates the MCU and offers unprecedented error resiliency,
low latency rate matching thus enabling natural, affordable,
high-quality video to work over the Internet, LTE and 4G networks. The
platform allows users to quickly leverage the latest hardware
innovations and new consumer devices, making it uniquely attractive to
partners. Vidyo has been active driving H.264 SVC and SIP
videoconferencing interoperability in various standards bodies since
2005.
