The International Computer Science Institute (ICSI) Appoints New Members to Board of Trustees


BERKELEY, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

The International Computer Science Institute (ICSI) has announced the appointment of six members to its board of trustees, growing the diverse group of academic and corporate leaders to 16 members. The expanded board held its annual meeting on Friday, when the new trustees officially assumed their duties.

"Our new trustees further enrich an already strong board with deep experience in computer science research, both in academic and industrial settings," said Roberto Pieraccini, director and president of ICSI. "This is a tremendous team and I look forward to benefiting from their knowledge and insight."

The new board members include:

  • Greg Badros, Vice President of Engineering and Products, Search, Ads and Gifts, Facebook (News - Alert)
  • Deborah Crawford, Senior Vice Provost for Research, Drexel University
  • Mazin Gilbert, Assistant Vice President, AT&T Labs (News - Alert)
  • Barbara Grosz, Higgins Professor of Natural Sciences, Harvard University
  • Eric Horvitz, Distinguished Scientist and Deputy Managing Director, Microsoft (News - Alert) Research
  • Martti Mäntylä, Chief Strategy Officer, EIT ICT Labs (European-wide)
