Deutsche Telekom and Digi International to Collaborate in M2M Market


Oct 12, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Digi International and Deutsche Telekom announced a collaboration to enable access and control of remote devices used in machine-to-machine applications throughout Europe.

According to a release, Digi will integrate Deutsche Telekom's industrial-grade SIM cards into its wireless gateways and routers and M2M SIM management functionalities into the iDigi Device Cloud.

"We believe that with Digi's unique wireless gateways and Deutsche Telekom's MFF SIMs specifically designed for industrial usage, customers get the most reliable service on the market," said Jurgen Hase, head of Deutsche Telekom's M2M Competence Center. "With the implementation of our M2M Service Portal into the iDigi Cloud there is also full access to all necessary registration and maintenance in one place, ensuring a convenient user experience." "Deutsche Telekom has an established presence in the M2M market in Europe, and we are pleased to collaborate to make it easier for customers to connect to and manage their remote assets," said Frederic Luu, vice president of Asia and EMEA sales and marketing, Digi International. "Integrating the Deutsche Telekom M2M Service portal into the iDigi Device Cloud is a foundational step that will open new opportunities throughout Europe." Solution architects are available from both organizations.
