Oracle Announces Advances in Green Button Opportunities through Oracle Utilities Customer Self Service

Oct 02, 2012 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- Today, Oracle announced that Oracle Utilities Customer Self Service, a web self-service platform that helps utilities give their customers online options for paying bills, requesting service and reducing costs, is now Green Button Download My Data-enabled, providing utilities with an out-of-box, easy-to-launch functionality for their customers.

Oracle Utilities continues to support the Green Button Initiative, a voluntary effort by utilities, to empower utility customers with secure access to their own energy usage data; as well as other Green Button Initiative solutions like Green Button Connect My Data, which will give customers the choice to share their data with trusted third parties.

Through Oracle Utilities Customer Self Service, Green Mountain Power, a Vermont electric utility recognized for leadership and innovation, is implementing Green Button Download My Data to help give its customers the option to access and understand their energy usage.

The Green Button enables consumers to easily access their energy usage data in a standard file format and, if they choose, share their data with trusted third parties who are developing applications and tools that help manage energy usage. Improved access to energy usage data can help consumers make more informed decisions and promote conservation.

Oracle Utilities Customer Self Service is pre-integrated across the Oracle Utilities suite of applications -- including Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing, Oracle Utilities Meter Data Management and Oracle Utilities Network Management System. The solution can also work with legacy and non-Oracle software products.
