DASAN Networks Launches New FTTx Products at FTTH 2012 Show

DASAN Networks, Inc., a global leader in delivering carrier-grade network and customer access solutions for high-speed data, voice, video, and wireless services over FTTP (Fiber-to-the-Premise) networks, with more than 5 million ONTs deployed worldwide will feature several enhancements to its advanced Layer 3 FTTP platform at this year's FTTH show in Dallas, TX. (Booth #453).

To meet the strong demand for two-way RF video services supporting VOD and OTT (over the top) services for digital cable services, DASAN expands its product offerings with a new RF return capability integrated into their GPON ONTs. RF return, which provides an IP return path over GPON, is supported in DASAN's H640R indoor residential ONT, H695R outdoor residential ONT, as well as its V1916GR/V1908RT MDU gateway. These products can support up to 16 living units from a single indoor or outdoor rack mounted chassis. DASAN's RF return functionality was developed for several of DASAN's cusomers and has undergone third party testing to assure performance. DASAN will have its RF return products featured at Booth 453 at the FTTH show.

In addition to RF return, DASAN also introduces the H640GW indoor GPON ONT with integrated 802.11 b/g/n wireless functionality. DASAN's customers have driven the need, along with RF return, wanting to offer wireless home networking from the ONT to their subscribers, and DASAN has responded with a cost-effective solution that meets their needs.

Another enhancement DASAN is introducing their new Gigabit Active Ethernet line card support for DASAN's V8240 Layer 3 FTTx platform. The V8240, which already supports GPON, now supports Active Ethernet for carrier Ethernet and business services, along with residential applications. DASAN's H695 outdoor ONT features a selectable GPON or Active Ethernet uplink.

DASAN's complete line of OLTs, ONTs, Layer 2 and 3 switches, along with mobile backhaul over fiber products will be shown at the FTTH show in Dallas, TX September 23-27, 2012.
