[September 12, 2012] Acer to Launch Ali Cloud-based Mobile Phone Model in China Tweet TAIWAN, Sep 12, 2012 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Acer Incorporated stated on September 11 that it will sell Cloud Mobile A800 mobile phone model carrying with Ali Cloud operating system (OS) in China at CNY 2,999 or USD 473 per set on September 14, according to foreign media reports. It is reported that different from Apple's iOS and Google's Android OS whose applications are installed in the equipment, the Ali Cloud operating system runs network-based applications that are stored on remote server and is equipped with self-developed map and mail applications. After spending three years in developing Ali Cloud, Alibaba Group launched the OS in July 2011. The company stated that more than 1,600 engineers have participated in the development of the OS.
