HP to cut 2,000 more jobs globally [Asian News International](Asian News International Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Washington, Sept 11 (ANI): The world's largest computer maker, Hewlett-Packard, is to cut more of its global staff than first planned, says a report. The firm said in its tenth quarterly filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that it will, 'eliminate approximately 29,000 positions in connection with the 2012 Plan through fiscal year 2014.' In May, HP said that it would cut 27,000 jobs, roughly eight percent of its global workforce, CNET reports. HP also said in the filing that it expects charges of around 3.7 billion dollars through the end of HP's fiscal 2014 calendar, with 3.3 billion dollars relating to workforce reductions, and 400 million dollars on 'other items,' such as data center consolidation, the report said.
