Primus Business Services unveils enhanced PrimusCloud Server platform
Sep 06, 2012 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) --
Primus Business Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of PTGi, or Primus Telecommunications Group, Incorporated, has announced the launch of its enhanced PrimusCloud Server, a platform to give clients significantly more control over server performance.
The PrimusCloud Server platform offers enhanced levels of end-client management capabilities and features two distinct levels of storage performance, standard cloud and premium cloud, the company said.
The main difference between these cloud performance levels stems from the underlying storage infrastructure that supports the cloud platform. By creating a single cloud product that spans the different grades of SAN (Storage Area Network) capabilities, clients will have more control of their entire infrastructure, including all of their networking and server components.
"Many businesses find that losing control of their infrastructure when hosting in the cloud is frustrating," said AJ Byers, Executive vice president of Primus Business Services. "Our clients want to remain in control of platform performance and the recent enhancements to our Primus cloud portfolio give clients the effective control that they require to properly manage their cloud infrastructure."
The new Primus public cloud platform offers varied IOPS/GB solutions by leveraging storage infrastructure solutions. Through Primus's dashboard, cloud service users will have direct links to manage their entire infrastructure including all of their networking and server components. With this additional flexibility, users can now console access, have unlimited private networks, upload their own images, and clone servers all with more control, the company added.
