Acer to Launch 6 Smartphone Models Next YearTAIWAN, Sep 05, 2012 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Acer Incorporated plans to launch six Windows Phone 8 or Android-based smartphone models next year. President of the company stated that the new products will aim at all the market segments in Europe, China and Southeast Asia. The president added that one of the six models to be launched is WP8 device and the remaining are Android-based smartphones. The high-end models will be installed with Qualcomm-developed dual-core processor, while the low-end models will adopt MediaTek chipset solutions. Acer has launched smartphone model Cloud Mobile S500 with cloud computing function in Europe in recent days. Earlier this year, the company has begun selling smartphone models-Liquid Galant and Liquid Glow in low and medium-end markets.
