The Future of SCADA, Telemetry Networks and Cyber Security to Be Discussed at the Remote Monitoring and Control 2012 Conference

The Remote Monitoring and Control 2012 conference has announced its annual event will be held September 17^th - 19^th 2012 in Denver, Colo. This technical conference features a day of pre-conference workshops and two days of educational sessions covering the future of SCADA, remote telemetry networks, M2M, cyber and physical security and onsite power for remotely managed and unattended sites.

The international conference serves multiple markets and industries including utilities/T&D, infrastructure, power, oil & gas, telecom, industrial, water & wastewater, remote networks and facilities management. End-users in these industries often have equipment, facilitiesand staff distributed over large areas and require automated processes and systems to control these assets.

"With continued advancements in monitoring, control and networking technology, managers of infrastructure projects and remote assets have a lot of options to help remotely monitor and control their facilities," said Nick Depperschmidt, conference chairman, Remote Monitoring and Control 2012. "Sometimes maintaining these systems, or developing new ones, can be a daunting task. Not to mention the ever evolving cyber and physical security needs of these installations. That is why we are bringing together industry leaders to discuss these very topics."

The program also includes three in-depth conference workshops covering topics vital to professionals in the industry. These include International Standards for Smart Grids and SCADA Application Domains, Cyber Security for Automation, Control and SCADA Systems (CEU credits) and the Monitoring and Control/SCADA 101 bootcamp (CEU credits).

Remote Monitoring and Control 2012 will also be co-located with three industry-leading conferences: Battery Power 2012, Mobile Antenna Systems 2012 and Advancements in Thermal Management 2012. The co-located events will provide opportunities to network with potential new clients and share a combined exhibit hall floor, which is open to all attendees.
